After 25 years in the same house, the Lannings decided it was time to update their daughter\u2019s childhood bedroom suite. They said farewell to the outdated girlie motif and turned it into a guest bedroom. For the ensuite bathroom they searched for an inexpensive way to upgrade (and not replace) the countertops with a durable product.<\/p>

Since Lanning\u2019s husband used to be a professional painter, the project was quick and easy for him to tackle. \u201cEven though my husband is a professional, I could have done it too,\u201d says Lanning, a resident of Arvada, Colo. \u201cIf you read the instructions first, and then do your prep work, this is a wonderful project with beautiful results.\u201d<\/p>

For their project, the Lannings chose an elegant Mantle Stone color. They installed the SpreadStone product in three timed-out steps. The kit includes a base coat, stone coat, clear coat, roller handle, rollers, paint brush and mini roller tray. The real stone product is heat resistant and water repellent, has low VOCs and is food safe. Each kit, which sells for $144, can cover up to 40 square feet of space.<\/p>

Lanning was so pleased with the results of their project that she entered it in the 2025 \u201cShow Us Our Countertops\u201d Contest sponsored by Daich Coatings. She was both surprised and proud to be a Runner-Up Winner in the Outstanding Bathroom Countertop Category.<\/p>

Encouraged by this successful project, the couple have plans to try the RollerRock\u00ae Rollable Stone Coating<\/a> product on their front porch in the near future, and perhaps a DaiHard\u00ae MAX Industrial Strength Floor Epoxy Kit<\/a> in their garage after that.
