Building a Kitchen\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Karl started by framing out the kitchen unit with non-treated lumber. He covered the framing with cement board. After taping the boards, he applied a thin set of Appr\u00eat textur\u00e9<\/a> in Dolphin Gray. This was done over the whole bar area to seal it from the elements.<\/p>

Then came the real fun. He added SpreadStone Textured Stone Coating<\/a> in Cool Gray to the exterior surfaces.<\/p>

\u201cI just rolled on multiple coats and it looked great,\u201d says Karl, a resident of Aurora, Colorado. \u201cThe coating looks awesome, especially when the sun hits it.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Finishing the Job\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

To complete the kitchen, Karl rolled on Hi-Build Ultra Sealer<\/a> to protect and preserve the finish. Then he added the crowning touch — a granite countertop.<\/p>

\u201cI\u2019m just a regular DIY person,\u201d says Karl. \u201cI was looking for the easiest way to get the look I wanted.<\/p>
