First up, transforming the ugly, worn-out red, green and cream Formica countertops throughout the home with real stone countertops.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cOlder manufactured homes are notoriously famous for using lower grade materials and color choices that look seriously dated by today\u2019s standards,\u201d says Carter, whose manufactured home in Washingtonville, N.Y. was built in 1994. \u201cBoth bathrooms and the kitchen countertops were in desperate need of being brought up to a more modern look.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Solution<\/h2>\n\n<p>For Carter and her daughter Emily, the solution came in the form of SpreadStone\u2122 Mineral Select\u2122 Countertop Refinishing Kits from Daich Coatings.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cEverything we needed was in that kit,\u201d says Carter. \u201cI chose the Ivory tone for all three countertops to give some unity to my home interior. They provided everything I needed to tackle this job plus easy-to-follow instructions. In just one weekend we had three new countertops. If you can use a paint brush and roller, than you can give your countertops a whole new look.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Long-Term Success<\/h2>\n\n<p>\u201cThe results speak for themselves,\u201d says Carter. \u201cThese countertops get used multiple times every day. Yet, they still look as beautiful as the day we finished them &#8212; and that was seven years ago!\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>The SpreadStone Mineral Select kit comes in 10 decorative colors: Onyx Fog, Oyster, Canyon Gold, Mantle Stone, Natural White, Coriander Cream, Sundance, Volcanic Black, Iron Stone and Lodestone. The older color of Ivory selected by Carter would now be considered the Oyster color offering.<\/p>\n\n<p>Each cost-effective kit includes application tools and required coatings to complete 30 to 40 square feet of space. The three-step process includes odorless applications of a stone base coat, decorative stone coat and stone clear top coat.
