If you\u2019re Greg Garrett, you hand-stencil a faux brick pattern on your house using four different colors of RollerRock<\/span><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> from Daich Coatings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u201cI\u2019ve always been interested in art, inventing and trying new things,\u201d says Garrett, a homeowner in Alliance, Neb. \u201cIf most people go left, I go right. I\u2019ve always liked new and innovative ideas, and this stone coating piqued my interest as a way to finish the stucco part of the house.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Steps to Success<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Garrett got it \u201cright\u201d when he decided back in 2006 to do something no one else had done before &#8212; create a unique, random color pattern by mixing and rolling on the real stone paint. He used a base coat of medium brown, and then mixed the base coat with three different colors to create different brick highlights.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI purchased several large rolls of self-adhesive paper stencils with a running brick pattern,\u201d says Garrett. \u201cThen I worked randomly over the entire stencil by dabbing the different colors on the house. It was very labor-intensive, but had extremely realistic results.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3><strong><u>Realistic Results<\/u><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Garrett painted around the entire home exterior, transforming the house and creating enhanced curb appeal. He even continued the pattern up the fireplace chimney on the roof and used <a href=\"https:\/\/daichcoatings.com\/fr\/shop\/rollerrock\/\">RollerRock<\/a> on an 18-inch foundation around the bottom of the house.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost people believe we have real brick on our home,\u201d says Garrett. \u201cFor 14 years the RollerRock has held up great. Where there are minimal cracks I go back and repaint them with RollerRock.
