Sad-looking. That\u2019s how homeowner Anthony Schultz described his kitchen countertops after major water damage from leaks above his kitchen required a big remodeling project. There was a tear-out of flooring, ceiling, walls and some cabinets, but new countertops were not in the budget. Fortunately, he was able to come up with the $299 for the LuxROCK\u2122 ULTRA Solid Surface Granite Kit.<\/a><\/p>

\u201cAfter the money we had to spend on repairing several parts of the house that were not covered by the insurance claim along with our deductible, the cost of new countertops was not in the cards for us,\u201d says Schultz. \u201cIn researching various coating methods, like painting, tiling, other faux-marble or faux-granite options, it seemed like Daich Coatings had the better reputation and happier customers. \u201cEverything was really well labeled in the kit,\u201d says the New Jersey homeowner. \u201cThat helped with the step-by-step process of getting it all done in a relatively short amount of time. Tip #1:<\/strong> Tape off everything with blue masking tape beforehand!<\/p>

Tip #2:<\/strong> Don\u2019t be shy with using drop cloths to protect your floor, sink and
appliances.<\/p>

Tip #3<\/strong>: Buy extra sandpaper and use a sander with a vacuum attachment.<\/p>

Schultz was pleased with the cost-effective end result of his project. He got real stone elegance without the real stone price. \u201cWe especially like how well LuxROCK ULTRA worked in fixing the flawed seal in the old Formica\u00ae countertops,\u201d says Schultz. \u201cWe did the project in 2024 and the countertops still look great. They\u2019re easy to clean and it was well worth the DIY elbow grease involved in the project!\u201d<\/p>
